Open Marriage or Relationship?

So Ive grown to love Jada Pinkett-Smith. Ive never really paid attention to her in the media, I just knew her and Will Smith seemed to have a pretty good marriage. She recently explained on her Facebook page, a comment she made about Will Smith being able to do whatever he wanted to do.

Of course people reacted to that statement weirdly, so she felt the need to really break it down. I personally think every woman should take a page from her book. The basis of what she was saying was the fact that you need to have trust and love to make any relationship last.

To me, an open marriage or relationship doesn’t necessarily mean “Hey you are free to sleep around and do whatever”. It means two individuals are coming together and deciding to trust each other. Two individuals who are open and honest with one another about their feelings and actions, so that the unnecessary wont ever occur. These days, men and women play so many games with each other and its all about winning. A relationship shouldn’t be a competition. You guys should help one another evolve and reach that next level of greatness. Every relationship is a learning experience because no two people are the same, and different things work for different people.

We are so afraid of judgment or afraid of being hurt that we make ridiculous rules and try to force people to abide by them. Once you decide to take that next step and commit to a person, all your cards should be on the table. There’s no need to hide your hand. This is something I am personally learning. If you cant be YOU for anyone else at least be you for your spouse. Presenting who you really are early into the relationship will definitely help the relationship last longer, or you may even realize that person isnt even for you before you get “in too deep”. Either way, it will work out for the better. Relationships aren’t easy. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who said it was. However, when two people come together on the same accord a LOT of bullsh*t will be cut out, early. Whenever I look at successful couples , I always wonder “What are they doing to make it work?”. Ive always seen the “bad” in relationships so its sooo refreshing to see people who can actually make it work. It gives me hope. It ultimately all boils down to two things: Trust & Love. I think Jada Pinkett hit the nail on the head. Of course, there are other little things but the BIGGER picture is definitely painted with lots of trust and love. Once you have that foundation, you are already setting your relationship up to succeed.

Expose yourself to your significant other. Be naked together. Yes, it’s easier said than done but hey it’s surely worth a try.

Being A Woman, In A Room Full of Bad B*tches

[Disclaimer] If you are a person who have the tendency of getting offended easily or if you have a closed mind, I would suggest you not read beyond this sentence. :)

There’s an epidemic going around in 2013, everyone wants to be a “Bad B*tch”. I really cant pin point its exact origin or date of occurrence. Somewhere between feminist trying to reclaim the word and gangsta rap the word “B*tch” became popular. I personally view the word B*tch like I view the word N*gger. Both words are definitely on the offensive side. Dropping the “er” on N*gger and adding an “a” , doesnt make it any less offensive and adding the word “bad” in front of B*tch doesnt make me any more comfortable. I understand that society have watered down these words so that they can now be accepted by the masses, which they are. Saying N*gga and B*tch is the cool thing to do now. I guess I may sound so lame for not being a person that accepts these “cool” word choices…but I digress.

Let’s get back to the subject at hand. In a room full of bad b*tches, how does one uphold her womanly caliber. I mean it’s hard out here for a woman to even get notice in a room full of bad b*tches. How can you compete with 24in. Brazilian weaves, 9in. heels, and ass shots? (not that theres anything wrong with those things, just listing some general makings of a bad b*tch) I mean its just crazy to me how far women have come to gain respect and equal opportunity to only end up back here. Is there really shame in being labeled a ‘Good Woman’ these days? You know we have failed in society when little girls are aspiring to be bad b*tches. How can you expect a man to respect you when you dont even respect yourself? and its always funny to me whenever a female (who uses the word so casually) gets upset when she is called a “b*tch”. So its okay to be called a b*tch as long as the word “bad” is put in front of it? It’s confusing.

Why do I care? Well women are often generalized. If some of us do something, then we all must do it. I have never referred to myself as a bad b*tch and I dont find it cute nor appealing, however that doesnt stop a random guy from saying that to me. You see in his mind women love to be called “bad b*tches”, because that is what he was taught. So I dont blame men. I blame the women who accepts this. Women hold a lot of power. A lot of women arent aware of the power they posses. What you allow a man to do is what he does. (think about it). I write these words because I am annoyed and so over this “Bad B*tch” syndrome. Is there like a committee head of the Bad B*tch movement whom I could write? I just need answers and clarity. Im afraid to see what term will surface next once people move past this. Welcome to 2013 where B*tch good ,woman bad.
